School districts in Wisconsin are required by the Department of Public Instruction to develop a new Information (Library Media) & Technology Plan every three years.  The School District of New Berlin's plan is in effect from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2013.  More than 50 stakeholders in the district provided input into development of this plan.

The plan provides a roadmap for the use of library media and technology to prepare our students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the 21st century.  Not only does this plan support national and state standards, but it also supports the Big 8 Technology Standards established by the district.

The four goals of this plan are:

Goal 1: Students will meaningfully apply technology skills to collaborate, create, innovate, and communicate.

Goal 2: Through collaborative professional development, staff members will be connected learners who initiate and partipate in global learning opportunities and applications for students.

Goal 3: Stakeholders will benefit from consistent and reliable access to technology that will be used to expand learning and communication.

Goal 4: The district will continue to build collaborative relationships to transform teaching and learning experiences for students, staff, families, and the community.
