Open Enrollment

The School District of New Berlin participates in the Wisconsin Open Enrollment program. This program allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than that in which they reside. 

Parents must submit online applications to the non-resident district during the application period beginning in February for the following school year.  For school year 2013-2014, the Open Enrollment application window will open at midnight on Feb. 4, 2013, and continue through 4:00 p.m. on April 30, 2013.  Late applications will not be accepted for any reason.  For further information concerning Open Enrollment (or to access the online application when it is available), visit the Department of Public Instruction website or contact DPI at (888) 245-2732.     

The School District of New Berlin Board of Education has determined that no Open Enrollment seats are available at any grade level for the 2013-2014 school year; however, the Board has approved the establishment of a waiting list.

New Berlin Board Policy 5114- Open Enrollment

There is no tuition cost to parents for participation. Parents of open-enrolled students may be charged the same fees as resident students.

PLEASE NOTE: Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from school.

Intra-District Student Transfer

Students enrolled in the School District of New Berlin can request assignment to a district school out of their home attendance area.

• Requests should be submitted by May 1 for the following school year.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Decisions for the following school year may not be made until right before the start of the school year.  Enrollments fluctuate and are monitored throughout the summer.
• These requests are subject to administrative approval.
