My name is Deb Fabrycki. I have been working in the public schools as a speech/language pathologist for 14 years serving children ages preschool-6th grade. I have had the privilege of serving children that are bilingual, on the autism spectrum, with health needs, hearing impairment, specific language disability ,speech sound disorders, voice, and fluency disorders directly and as a consultant.
My overall goal in serving children with communication needs is to give them the tools and build their confidence in such a way that their communication skills move them successfully and independently through their learning experiences and through their life-long, chosen endeavors.

Preschool Screening
Preschool screening is provided at the Elementary Schools. This is a developmental screening for children ages 3 to 5. It is used to identify children who may require additional assessment, programming, or monitoring. These decisions are made based on an informal assessment of the child, a background history, and a discussion with the parent. Most children who attend are not referred for further testing. Sometimes parents are given suggestions and encouraged to return for another screening in the spring or fall. For preschoolers, it is a nice introduction to their future school. Each child ends the session by choosing a book that they can keep.
