Welcome to Mr. Grauer's web page. Since the fall of 2005, I have been Director of Bands at New Berlin West, where I am responsible for teaching Middle School Band, High School Band, and AP Music Theory. Our program has a variety of other groups depending on the interest and the time of the year. In the fall, our HS Band works in the Marching Band activity, and the remainder of the year we focus on the Concert Band. We offer Jr. Jazz for MS Band students, Jazz Ensemble for HS Band students, and a varity of offerings for the Wisconsin School Music Association's Solo & Ensemble Festivals. The NBW Bands also hosts the WSMA Concert Group festival each year.

About me... I began teaching 1979, and since then have taught Band, Choir, Orchestra, Music Theory and even Elementary Classroom Music. My teaching journey has taken me to Little Rock, Arkansas; Milwaukee Public Schools; Northampton, Massachusetts; Oakfield, Wisconsin; UW-Madison; and finally to New Berlin West. My undergrad is from UW-Whitewater, and my Masters in Music Education is from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.

I love composing and arranging for Band and Orchestra, and my proudest moment was having a piece I arranged for the NBW Band performed in 2012 by The United States Marine Band on the steps of the US Capitol.

Each year the NBW Bands have continued to grow musically, and are a source of of pride to our school and community.
