AP (Associated Press) Images – Provides images and graphics that can be used in papers and multimedia presentations. Material is updated daily.
BadgerLink – Provides access to online information resources for Wisconsin residents. Within BadgerLink there are a variety of databases to search. These databases provide access to articles from thousands of newspaper and periodical titles, image files, and other specialized reference materials and websites. (No username or password needed, when accessing from home > click on the Library Card Access link on the right of the screen > choose your public library from the drop down menu > enter your public library card number.)
Career Cruising– An interactive career resource. This database offers information about thousands of careers, a career matchmaker, and information about higher-level schools and the programs they offer.
CQ Researcher– Comprehensive, nonpartisan analysis of contemporary issues; pro and con arguments by experts; up-to-date information on controversial topics; searchable archives dating back to 1991; a chronology and annotated bibliography; information for citing sources in MLA and APA formats.
Culture Grams – Includes a World, States, and Kids edition. This is a reference for concise, reliable, and up-to-date information in 25 cultural categories. A native or long-term resident of the country writes each report. Included in this reference are printable files, recipes, short biographies of famous people, photo galleries, maps, flags, sound files and currency and time converters.
Discovery Education Streaming – A database used for finding videos, audio, images, and articles to match the curriculum. By searching the database, users are able to locate grade and subject specific content. Each video has been indexed (or broken into chapters), which gives users the option of viewing the entire program or watching a short clip.
Gale Virtual Reference Library– A database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research including arts, biography, business, education, environment, history, law, literature, medicine, multicultural studies, nation and world, religion, science, and social science.
Global Issues in Context– Offers global news and perspectives on issues and events of international importance and provides background information on the issues.
Grzimek's Animal Life– Offers more than 4,000 species categorized by Amphibians, Birds, Fish, Insects, Invertebrates, Mammals and Reptiles, including information on evolution, habitat, behavior, range. Updated regularly by a worldwide network of experts. Includes interactive range maps, thousands of photos, maps, videos, audio tracks and more.
History Resource Center: U.S. – Provides a complete overview of U.S. history and covers the most studied events, issues, and current information using both primary and secondary databases.
SIRS Researcher – A general reference database with full-text articles on social, scientific, health, historic, business, economic, political and global issues. Articles are selected from more than 1,500 newspapers, magazines, journals, and government publications. Graphics, including charts, maps, diagrams and drawings, are available for many of the articles. SIRS is useful in finding pro/con information.
Soundzabound – Royalty free music to use in presentations, movies, and other multimedia projects.
World Book Online – An online encyclopedia that offers World Book Advanced for middle and high school students.
