I have lived in Wisconsin since 1999. My husband, Tim, and I live in New Berlin, with our daughter, Addison. Our family also includes a very energetic dog, named Pixie, and an entertaining cat named Snuggles.
I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Community Health with a supporting field in psychology and a minor in art. After graduating, I worked as a Lifestyles Director in nursing homes, assisted living, and independent apartments with senior citizens. I always had a desire to teach so I made the leap to change careers and attended Mt. Mary University, where I earned my teaching license in early childhood thru 6 th grade. After graduating with my teaching license, I taught summer school in New Berlin and then began teaching kindergarten at Roosevelt Elementary in Wauwatosa. Once my daughter was born, I stepped away from teaching full time to be home with her. At the same time, I was offered an opportunity to develop and teach parent/child preschool classes for the New Berlin Parks and Recreation Department. These are fun and educational classes that not only introduce young children to new ideas but also teach parents simple and fun ways to interact with their children through playing games,
I have been with New Berlin Preschool since 2012, as the lead teacher in the four year old morning class. The best part of teaching this age is seeing their imaginations at work and their true delight in learning and exploring what’s around them. Everyday is a new and exciting adventure waiting to be found!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy hiking, baking something new and delicious, and settling into a great book.
