Teacher Bio:
My name is Mrs. Amy Murray and I have been teaching for 18 years! During those 18 years, I've taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 4th grade and 7th & 8th grade English and Science. I have been with the School District of New Berlin for the past 15 years. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Education Grades 1-9 with a minor in English and a Master’s Degree in Professional Development. Both degrees were received from Mount Mary College. I am also a district SMARTBoard trainer and ERE Teacher. As a teacher, my main goal is to build a love of learning within each student. Learning not only happens in the classroom, but in each and every situation, and I hope to bring forth that awareness for the students. I also teach with the philosophy that learning can be fun! It's the hands-on experiences, real-world activities and peer interactions that help build strong memories for the children!
I am thrilled this year to be part of a co-teaching team with Mr. Luke Sadowski. Our co-teaching classroom offers students the opportunity to experience 2 teachers in the classroom each day! We are able to meet ALL needs of ALL learners through a variety of one-on-one learning situations and extension activities.
At home, I am kept busy with 3 children; a son in 8th grade, a daughter in 6th grade, and a 4 year old preschool daughter. We keep busy with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, gymnastics lessons and lots more. My husband, Andy, and I have been married for 14 years. He has a degree in formation technology and currently works as a CNC machinist. He is also a very talented woodworker and a retired Air National Guard member of the 128th Air Refueling Unit with 21 years of service. In my spare time, my family and I love to go camping. I also enjoy reading, stamping, crafting, and the Packers! We have one black cat whose name is Licorice.
