MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS

New Berlin Eisenhower Middle School offers several sports throughout the school year.  Middle school sports are separate from private select leagues and are geared toward all skill levels of our students.

We offer the following team opportunities:                Teams in the Parkland Conference:

Co-ed Cross Country: September – October                     New Berlin West
Girls Basketball: September –November                           Kettle Moraine

Boys Basketball: November – January                               Park View (Mukwonago)
Wrestling: January –March                                                Burlington
Girls Volleyball: January –March                                        Nature Hill (Oconomowoc)
Coed Track: March – May                                               Silver Lake (Oconomowoc)

Middle school teams practice Monday thru Thursday, with home and away competitions against other schools. Several of the sports have end of the season tournaments that are held on Saturday. Practice and games takes place after school.  Transportation to and from Eisenhower is provided for all away games (games at NB West are provided a ride to West only, players need to be picked up from West) and uniforms for most sports are provided.  Basketball and volleyball practices are divided into two sessions by grade.  A study hall is provided for students who have the second practice session.

Items Needed to Participate:

When students participate in middle school sports they are required to have several signed forms on file before participation is allowed.  Students are required to have a physical every two years: so all 7th graders will need to have a physical prior to the first day of practice. They require a physical form (signed by the doctor and preferably stamped with the practice information), parent consent and a code of conduct.  They may either go to the school web site to do the paperwork electronically for the code of conduct or they may pick up a paper copy in the front office.

If an 8th grade student has a valid physical on file from last year (the physical date must be April 1, of prior year or later to be valid), then he/she would require parent consent and code of conduct.  If they do not have a physical on file, they will be required to have one before the first day of practice.

The $55.00 athletic participation fee must be paid (preferably on line) before the first day of the sport and student may not have any outstanding fees.  The family cap is $360.00. The fee is refundable if the child decides within the first week or so of practice that they do not want to be on the team.

Middle School sports are a fantastic opportunity for students to try a sport they may not have played before, or to participate in a sport they like to play.  Either way it is a fun time for your child to be part of a team with his/her classmates and to travel to compete against other area schools.

If you would like to check on paperwork that is currently on file, or what fees have been paid or need to be paid.
