You can find county-wide data on the Waukesha County dashboard at www.waukeshacounty.gov/covid19. County quarantine status can be a result of case exposure at home, school or in the community. As a reference, here are the active child cases, ages 0-18, within the SDNB boundaries: 3.

Please note the total active child cases reported on the County dashboard:

  • includes children who attend public and private schools, students who open enroll into other districts and those who are homeschooled;
  • includes all children ages 0-5, in some cases, children who are not yet enrolled in kindergarten in our schools;
  • includes all 18-year-olds, including those who may have already graduated from our schools.

May 20 - Updated COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies
Based upon the Board of Education's decision on May 18, 2021, the Administration is providing updated COVID-19 mitigation strategy details.
May 18 - School Board Votes to Make Masks Recommended
On Tuesday, May 18, the Board of Education proposed and approved the making of masks recommended, rather than required, for all students, staff and visitors for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. The change will be implemented Friday, May 21.
May 11 - SDNB Refines Quarantine, Mask Guidelines
Effective immediately, the SDNB will adopt Waukesha County's quarantining recommendations and make masking outside recommended (rather than required) in all instances.
May 7 - SDNB May Adopt New Waukesha County Guidelines Related to Quarantining
Also, the SDNB will host a third-party vaccination clinic for students and staff 16 and up in May and June.
April 14 - COVID-19 Update for Families, Staff
Please read for more information regarding Waukesha County's vaccination recommendations for county residents.
March 25 - Teaching Staff to Receive Second Dose of Vaccine on April 1
The day will be an asynchronous virtual learning day for all students, with a few exceptions for those whose IEPs indicate otherwise.
March 8 - UPDATED: Staff To Be Vaccinated March 9, Second Dose April 1
Both days will be asynchronous learning days for students across the district, with the exception of ACT testing for juniors taking place in-person as scheduled March 9.
March 2 - Staff to be Vaccinated March 9
Please read Superintendent Garza's letter to families that explains the need for March 9 (and March 30) to be asynchronous virtual learning days for students as all staff members who want to be vaccinated are able to do so through a third-party clinic.
