The Jeff Setz Memorial Scholarship is given annually to a graduating New Berlin Eisenhower High School student who plans to pursue a career in education. Jeff spent his entire 36-year teaching career in the New Berlin Public Schools as a mathematics teacher and coach for many athletic teams, most notably as the head coach for both the New Berlin Eisenhower football and softball programs. He made one of his life’s efforts to be a contributing member to his community and have a positive impact in the development of many successful students and athletes.

SCHOLARSHIP: Up to two $1500, non-renewable scholarships will be awarded per year to graduating seniors from New Berlin Eisenhower who best meet the scholarship criteria. Scholarships will be paid to the college of the recipient’s choice to help pay first-year tuition.

ELIGIBILITY: Students must be graduating seniors of NB Eisenhower and planning to attend college the semester following high school graduation.

CRITERIA: Applicants will be judged based on academic achievement, extracurricular activity, community involvement, and demonstrated interest in a career in education.

REQUIREMENTS: No later than May 15, applicants must complete this online application, including the following uploads/attachments:

• In 300 words or less, describe why you want to become a teacher and what qualities and experiences you possess to help you achieve this goal
• A copy of the college or post-secondary institution letter of acceptance/admission
• High school transcript
• Letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or community member
