My name is Mrs. Megan Nowak. I have been teaching Kindergarten at Poplar Creek Elementary since the 2004-2005 school year, and every year I’m enjoying it more and more! I love the excitement that Kindergarteners bring to the classroom every day, and the curiosity is endless!
I grew up in Waukesha, where I attended Waukesha North High School. After my four years of High School, I made the big move up to Minnesota to attend Winona State University. This is where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. In the fall of 2007, I decided to go back to school and pursue a Masters Degree. In the summer of 2009 I completed my program through Cardinal Stritch University, and received my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology. All of my educational experiences have really helped shape me into the teacher I am today.
Away from teaching, some of my interests include sports, coaching, camping, cooking, shopping, and traveling. I am a true athlete at heart, and have always had a strong passion for great competition. I was the JV Fastpitch Softball Coach at New Berlin West High School from 2005-2016, and loved interacting with my high school girls on the field. My husband, Chris, and I were blessed in February of 2013 with the birth of our beautiful daughter Estelle Marie. We have loved parenthood so far and have enjoyed watching her grow and learn! Chris and I have been married since 2006 and love spending time together traveling and just relaxing at home with our daughter and dog, Leroy!
Kindergarten is a special year for children, and I am looking forward to building strong relationships and creating fun memories with all of my students and their families!
Sincerely,
Megan Nowak
