Ready, Set, Go! Screening

To build foundational skills, and support readiness for school, the School District of New Berlin holds "Ready, Set, Go!" developmental screenings for all of our early learners ages 3-5 years old. (This screening is not necessary to enter kindergarten - students are tested once they begin kindergarten). Screenings are limited to residents in the District of New Berlin and resident students attending 4K at Heritage Christian School, Holy Apostles School, Seventh Day Adventist, or Star of Bethlehem School.

During this 60-minute screening, we will observe the children's skills in the areas of speech/language, motor, self-help, early learning and social development. The goal of screening is to offer parents feedback regarding the child's development and helpful information to get their child ready for kindergarten.

The District will screen 3-5 year old children, especially if a family has special concerns about their child's development. A referral for a special education evaluation may also be made.  

To request a screening, click HERE to create an online registration form -  be sure to choose "screening" for the grade level.  Once you have completed the online registration process and receive a confirmation, please contact Amanda Blaedow at 262.789.6242 or amanda.blaedow@nbexcellence.org to set up a screening  date.  The screening is not mandatory; however, it is recommended.

To Get Started:

STEP 1:  Register ONLINE  Please use a computer and any updated browser. To reduce the time it takes to complete the online forms, gather this information before you start: home and work addresses, phone numbers, emails, and student health information. 

Click here to register online you will need to then click on the link under STEP 2 (Online registration is for families who are new to the school district, as well as existing families who need to enroll additional children.)

STEP 2: SCHEDULE YOUR CHILD'S "READY, SET, GO!" SCREENING  After you have registered your child online, please contact Amanda Blaedow at 262.789.6242 or amanda.blaedow@nbexcellence.org to schedule your child's Ready,Set, Go! screening.  Screenings are held at the District Office located at 4333 Sunnyslope Rd., New Berlin
