Health Sciences is a multidisciplinary field. It actively combines bio-medical, psycho-social, organizational and societal aspects of health, disease and health care. In addition, it focuses on the design and evaluation of medical-technological, behavioral and organizational interventions as well as the application of that knowledge to improve health and patient centered health care, and to ultimately improve the quality of life. The demand for a wide variety of health science professionals is growing exponentially as our population ages. There are many different pathways to a career in Health Science. For example:
- Patient Care (nursing, physician services, etc.)
- Therapeutic Care (occupational/physical therapy, etc.)
- Diagnostic Care (radiology, imaging, pathology, etc.)
- Research and Development (biomedical engineering, etc.)
- Health Care Administration (business IT, informatics, etc.)
