College & Military Visits

Parents, please accept our invitation to attend these sessions along with your student or by yourself.  You will be provided with lots of wonderful information and a great opportunity to meet face to face with an admissions representative.  Students can pick up a pass to attend in the Student Services Department the day before or morning of the visit.  Locations may vary, please report to Student Services at the time of the visit, you will be directed to the location.  Should you have any questions, please contact your counselor.  We hope to see you!!.

WCTC's Byte of IT for Women Event is Feb. 25

Discover what it's like to be a web and software developer, a network specialist or a computer support specialist at Waukesha County Technical College's Byte of IT for Women, an inspiring morning of discussion and hands-on activities facilitated by women in IT.

The event is Saturday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, in the L Building, WCTC Pewaukee Campus, 800 Main Street, Pewaukee.

ASVAB Military Test (posted 2/14/17)

Expand your horizons. New Berlin West is hosting the ASVAB, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, Career Exploration Program (CEP) on March 24, 2017.
The ASVAB CEP is a mandatory test for anyone interested in pursuing a career in military but is offered to any students in grades 9-12. Students participate in a Multiple-Aptitude Test, Interest Inventory, and Career Exploration Tool to better understand their skills, abilities, and interests. Anyone can benefit from the ASVAB CEP regardless of their plans after high school.

Greater Milwaukee College Workshop (posted 2/9/17)

The Greater Milwaukee College Workshop is a free event for high school students and their parents.  Attendees can pick from 12+ presentations covering all aspects of planning for college.  They will learn from the experts about scholarships, financial aid, ACT prep, essays, college admissions and college athletics.  All in one Sunday afternoon! Applications Open for The Commons High School Program Workshop (posted 2/8/17

The Commons is a regional organization dedicated to pairing students with the business community for collaboration on real world projects.  They are holding their first ever workshop for high school students who are interested in exploring the innovation process while working with teammates to solve cool problems.  Click here for informational flyer.

  • When:  10:00am - 5:00pm on Sunday, March 5 and Sunday, March 12
  • Where:  Ward 4 in downtown Milwaukee located at 333 N. Plankinton Ave. #205
  • Cost:  It’s free!  (You'll also get a shirt, a special Commons Certificate of Completion and some great food!)

Key Dates to Apply for Froedtert Summer Health Care Academy 2017 (posted 1/24/17)

Students who have a demonstrated interest in learning more about health care professions in a clinic setting are encouraged to apply for this new opportunity sponsored by Froedtert.

Selected students will rotate through a variety of different departments at the New Berlin Moorland Reserve Health Center throughout their summer experience. For example, administration, cancer center, cardiology, emergency department, urgent care, pharmacy, radiology, respiratory, and more. Student experiences may vary based on their rotation schedule.

This opportunity is open to current sophomores and juniors who will turn 16 on or before July 10, 2018. Applicants must be available daily July 24 through Aug. 4, from 7:45-11:30 a.m. This program requires 100 percent attendance. Applications will be available beginning in mid-February and will be accepted through March 17. Up to 20 students will be selected for an interview Monday, April 3, during the school day. A total of 10 students will be selected to participate in the summer academy. Selected students will be expected to prepare a presentation to share their experience with students, staff and parents in the fall of 2017.

Medical College of Wisconsin Summer Opportunities - Apply Today! (Posted 10/12/16)

Are you a future physician? Do you have a passion for biomedical research?

Each summer, the Medical College of Wisconsin-Milwaukee offers signature programs to promote diversity in the medical field and provide an exceptional gateway to clinical careers. MCW’s summer enrichment programs are designed for students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in medicine and biomedical research.

Eligible New Berlin Eisenhower and West students are encouraged to apply for the MCW’s Research Opportunity for Academic Development in Science (ROADS) program and/or the Apprenticeship in Medicine (AIM) program. Students can determine their eligibility by viewing this FAQ.

ROADS runs from June 19 to Aug. 4; AIM runs from June 26 to Aug. 4. Interested students should be available for the entire duration of program dates. Students can watch this YouTube video for more information about AIM.

The application deadline is Wednesday, March 1. Applications must include an official school transcript. Click here to apply.
